The museum has existed since 1955 but was loacted at different places. It has been at the present address since 1985. With 4 floors of modern art, the surface of the museum is over 500 sq. meters. The museum has a good collection of works of colombian artists such as Botero, Manzur, Grau, Villamizar, Negret, Alvaro Barrios, Ana Mercedes Hoyos and María de la Paz Jaramillo.
